Canon EOS Rebel XSi 12MP Digital SLR Camera
If you are looking to upgrade from an older model to anew swanky one then the canon EOS Rebel XSi is the perfect fit and it is a huge improvement from the previous Rebel. The performance and the quality of images that you get from this camera are simply out of the world however the same cannot be said about its looks.
There are two options when it comes to the body design in the XSi, one is the solid black and the other is the silver and black. Both these camera come with the Single lens kit along with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. Many manufacturers including the competitors for cannon offer the double lens kit but Canon doesn�t which is a bit weird.
What is new in this camera is the EF-S 55mm-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS lens. The new model is also heavier compared to the older models by a few ounces. While cameras are getting sleeker Cannon just put on weight and there should be a reason for it. The LCD screen has gone through some minor changes and the control layout seems a little different. All the controls have been placed on the right now so that you don�t have to grope now. To start with you do not need to hold the camera with both your hands now and the controls have shifted to single hand now!
The biggest advantage of all over its competitions and the previous model that XSi has is the Mymenu. This feature has been adapted from the older models but it just got better. You can build your own setting using this option like prioritize the most used list. You can change the format and live view settings.
XSi also comes with good overall specs like the 12MP APS-C CMOS sensor and a 9 point auto focus technology. The Auto Lighting optimizer is also available for face detection and covering the shadow. Everything else remains same like the Rebel.
